The first part of the monograph on the P-47 Thunderbolt constitutes a thorough insight into its origins and development of the early versions of the aircraft from XP-47B prototype, through P-47B, C & G, to D-21/D-23 variants. All ‘razorback’ versions are specified and described. Afterwards, the book discusses the combat use of P-47s over Europe since their debut in this theatre of operations till the end of 1943. The author uncoveres the fates of particular fighter units as well as individual pilots who fought in them.
English & Polish text, 120 pages, 105 photos, 26 sheets of 1:48 and 1:72 scale drawings, which include specification of external changes in production-run versions of the aircraft, 9 pages of colour charts with 21 examples of camouflage schemes.
