This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The EA-6B Prowler is an electronic warfare aircraft based on the carrier-capable attack aircraft A-6 Intruder. The aircraft was extended to accommodate four people: a pilot and three electronic warfare personnel. In addition, it was equipped with various electronic devices to perform a wide range of electronic warfare missions, such as disabling surface-to-air missile-guided radar, electronic jamming, and collecting enemy radio-wave information. Mass production began in 1969, and it was deployed from 1971. In addition to being deployed on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers, it was also operated by the Marine Corps. It took part in the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, the Iraq War and more, and showed a wide range of activities. Production of this aircraft ended in 1991, with a total of 170 being built; deployment of the EA-18G, developed as its successor, ended the Prowler's activities in 2019.
This kit from Platz uses parts made by Dragon; the unique nose shape with four seats is accurately reproduced, and the cockpit interior is well detailed. Jamming pod parts and missiles are included for under the wings. Platz includes a new manual in Japanese, and decals for three versions from Cartograf. The kit includes parts to build two aircraft.
