Platz 1/144 U.S. Air Force Attack Aircraft A-10C Thunderbolt II 122nd Fighter Wing Black Snake 2 Set

The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a ground attack aircraft dedicated to the U.S. military's close-range air support, and has been in operation since 1977. It's equipped with a twin engine and a straight wing. There are a total of 11 hard points on the underside and fuselage of the wing, capable of carrying 16,000 pounds, 7,260kg bombs, rockets, missiles and more. In addition, the nose is equipped with a 30x173mm GAU-8/A Avenger auto cannon, giving it a high attack capability. Improvements have been continued after its deployment, and the A-10C, which appeared in 2005, has been upgraded with a glass cockpit. The first time the A-10 participated in battle was in the Gulf War in 1991. It is still operated by the U.S. Air Force, with some being used by state Air Forces as well.

This model kit from Platz reproduces the A-10C, which has been modernized and refurbished since 2005, focusing on its electronic devices. Easy-to-assemble parts from F-toys are used, and parts for two aircraft are included. Adopting straight wings with the strength unique to the A-10, its style is realistically reproduced, along with its twin engines. The panel lines are expressed in detail for a realistic finish. Decals by Cartograf are included for the 122nd Combat Air Corps and the 161st Combat Squadron with a snake head on the nose; markings for the commemorative paint of the 100th anniversary of the Indiana Air Force and its normal paint are also included.
